V “Guidance Regarding Special Training Requirements For Personnel On Certain Types Of Ships” in accordance with the STCW Code 2010 requirements and training procedures of the Quality Management System of this educational institution.”



Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to gain hands-on experience and training in dealing with the standard, critical, and emergency operational aspects of an offshore crane utilizing a crane simulator.

The simulation activities & exercises are designed to enhance participant’s skills and ability in offshore crane operations with emphasis on the following:

  • Review safety-critical aspects related to crane function and operation;
  • Ensure lifts are conducted within operational/environmental limits;
  • Establish proper lifting/discharge sequence;
  • Reinforce understanding of maneuvering options, patterns of movement, speeds and time delays (crane / load / vessel); and
  • Develop further the working practice in the safe operation of offshore cranes.
